Kenneth H. Albrecht, 69, of Mountain Top, passed away Thursday at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Ken was born in Wilkes-Barre on September 22, 1948. He was the son of the late Arthur and Amanda (Kaswinkel) Albrecht.
Kenneth proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State Nittany Lions. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors taking care of his lawn. He collected Hess Trucks and enjoyed playing softball in his younger years. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and walking his dogs, Ally and Duncan, while visiting with his neighbors.
Kenneth was a loving individual who knew the meaning of hard work. He was employed by the former Orloski’s Gas Stations and Greyhound Bus Lines. He was also employed by Martz Trailways and most recently by Fed Ex, before retiring in 2010. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by brother-in-law; Richard Schneider.
Surviving is his wife; Diane (Robins) Albrecht. Daughter; Jill Albrecht, Mountain Top. Sister; Barbara Schneider, Mifflinville. Brother; Arthur Albrecht and his wife, Sarah, Harrisonburg, VA. Sister-in-law, Cheryl Trebunak, Plains. Brother-in-law; Richard Robins, Hanover Twp. Several nieces and nephews and cousins.
A blessing service for Kenneth will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am with Rev. Mary Laufer officiating at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. 465 South Main Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 9:00am until time of service. Interment will be held in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Ross Township.
