Frances Xavier (Marra) Chicchetti

Frances Xavier (Marra) Chicchetti, 73, native of Brooklyn, NY, long time resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY  on October 19, 1943, she was a daughter of the later Albert and Theresa (D’Amato) Marra.

Frances was a devout Catholic and member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who adored her.  Family was her top priority.  Frances also loved listening to music and spending time crocheting.  She worked at Wilkes University for many years in the cafeteria. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Marra and a sister, Margaret Oliva.

Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, John Chicchetti, 5 loving daughters, Maria Ann & her husband, Ken Savage, Judith Ann & her husband, Ron Romanelli, Laurie Ann & her husband, Mick Cobb, Christina Marie and her husband, Jim Allen, and Barbara Ann Chicchetti, two loving sons, John Francis & Thomas Albert and his wife, Samantha, her grandchildren, Damian, Travis, John, Marina, Gabriella, Gianna, Veronica, Dominic, Courtney, Jalissa, Salena, Philip, Francesca, Justin & Shannon, her great grandson, Zayden, a sister, Theresa Cataldo, three brothers, Salvatore, Albert  & Anthony Marra, and several nieces and nephews. She was awaiting the birth of her granddaughter, Camilla.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, June 5th at 9:30 AM from the Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral Home, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre with Father Joseph Verespy.  

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Family and Friends are invited to call on June 4, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
