Shirley Hughes, a resident at Manor Care Kingston, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 3rd after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, brothers Thomas and Edward.
In her heart Shirley was always a life long resident of Warrior Run, even after living in Hanover Township for more than 20 years. One her favorite things to do was work at the election polls which she did for over 40 years. She said this was her favorite way to catch up with old friends.
Shirley retired after 30 years of service from the dietary department at the former Mercy Hospital. Even after her retirement Shirley still liked her get together with her Mercy friends.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Cathy (Gary) son John (Theresa) and her sister Catherine Cromer.
Granddaughters Jillian (Michael) Hailee (Justin) and Tyunnah.
Niece Colleen Conyngham and nephews Kevin Conyngham and Maximo DeLancer.
Great granddaughters Harper and Ariah
Funeral arrangement are being taken care of by Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services in Wilkes Barre.
There will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care Kingston, especially Jen Moses, for the devotion, kindness and compassion they show to all of their residents.
