Ryan Altmann, 41, Duryea, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 4, at home.
Born in Scranton on April 5, 1981, he was the son of David and Christine (Kovac) Altmann, Duryea.
Following his graduation from Pittston Area High School, Ryan worked for several years in the trucking industry at J.B. Hunt, Pittston.
An avid outdoorsman, Ryan enjoyed fishing and the serenity of spending time near a quiet stream or lake. He also liked building custom remote-control cars and weightlifting, but Ryan’s most cherished times were spent playing with his daughter, Aubree, whom he adored.
In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his wife, Amanda (Snopek) Altmann; a daughter, Aubree Ella Altmann; a stepson, Brayden Leonard; two sisters, Amy Sciabacucchi and husband, Matthew, Dallas; Kristina Zawadzki and husband, Jeffery, Plano, Texas; a nephew, Adam Fargione, Dallas; a niece, Brynn Zawadzki, Plano, Texas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stephen and Jeanne Kovac, and his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Frances Altmann.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at River of Life Fellowship Church, 22 Outlet Rd., Dallas, with Pastor Kenneth Kreller officiating.
