Rudolph “Rudy”J. Garafola, III, 25, of Old Forge, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, in Wilkes-Barre.
Rudy was born on November 4, 1997, in Wilkes-Barre and was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. Rudy attended Pittston Area High School. He was a licensed forklift operator who previously worked at Home Depot and Golden Technologies.
Rudy is survived by his godmother, Nancy Adomiak of Avoca; father, Rudolph J. Garafola, Jr. of Old Forge; sister, Victoria Garafola and her husband Hirotaka Iwashita, Osaka, Japan; sister, Melodey Kowalczyk, Dupont, PA; his girlfriend of 4 years, Morgan Tomaszewski, Old Forge; cousin Brian Adomiak, San Antonio; cousin Paul Walsh, Avoca; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his godfather, Robert Adomiak of Avoca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 18, at 11:00 AM, Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne Street, Avoca, with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00 AM till the time of the mass at the church.
