Robert (Bob) Adomiak, 67, of Avoca, PA, and Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away peacefully at his home in Murrells Inlet, on Friday, October 9, 2020.
Born in Taylor PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Natalina Garafola Adomiak. He was a 1971 graduate of Old Forge High School and served in the United States Air Force, 51st Civil Engineering Division, from 1971-1975, serving two of those years in Korea. He graduated from Lackawanna Junior College with an Associate Degree in Business Management and also attended the University of Scranton. He was retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot and was the owner of Bob Adomiak Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning. He was a daily communicant of Queen of the Apostles Parish in Avoca, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Garden City, SC, where he was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society; Bob had a great devotion to the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet; he was also a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy Gallagher Walsh Adomiak; children, Brian Adomiak, San Antonio, Texas; Paul Walsh, Avoca; Victoria Garafola, Osaka, Japan; and Rudy Garafola, Old Forge; brothers Francis (Mary Ann), Spring Brook Township, and Michael (Beverly), Old Forge; three brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne Street, Avoca, with Father Phillip J. Sladicka officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 728 Main Street, Avoca and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queen of the Apostles Parish or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Garden City, SC.
