Mary F. Pennachioli of Jenkins Township died peacefully in her sleep at St. Therese Residence in Wilkes-Barre. She was 99 years young!
She was born and raised in Pittston, moved to Kingston and finally to St. Therese Residence.
Mary was the daughter of Mario Falzone and Theresa Lunetta Falzone. She graduated from Pittston High School. For many years she was a member of St. Rocco's Church. She was employed by Leslie Fay in the garment industry and retired in 1986. She dedicated her life to her family and friends. Making their lives happy was her priority. She was never selfish or controlling, always available to lend a helping hand and shared her exuberance about life and living. She was content and grateful for all her blessings and those of her family and circle of friends.
Her husband Theodore preceeded her in death as well as her brothers Angelo and Joseph Falzone and her cherished sisters Madelyn Hughes, Rose Baiera Grasavage, and Sue Butera. Surviving is her only child Theresa Karambelas and her husband Clayton; several nieces, a nephew, and their children.
Mary will always be remembered with love, affection and admiration by the "younger ladies" in her life
especially Leona and A.J. and her niece Marcie who shared many luncheons and laughter-filled afternoon visits with her over the years. Her birthday celebrations, since living at St. Therese Residence, were events she looked forward to sharing with them and their families and the other residents.
Her daughter and son-in-law will never forget her constant unconditional love, generosity and unwavering support throughout the years. And as her daughter, I must add, that I will treasure the memories of our unique, close bond and life long friendship. We were more than just mother and daughter somehow. She was my rock and my guiding light. I know that great love will sustain me until we are together again in Paradise. Mom, "I'll be loving you always".
We would like to express our special thanks to the dedicated staff of St. Therese Residence and the exceptional staff of Whispering Hope for all their tender loving care and patience. They were there fpr all of us. Thanks too, to Hospice of the Sacred Heart who helped in the final week of Mary's life.
