Mary B. (Becker) Marshall

Mary B. (Becker) Marshall, 73, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Keystone Gardens, Larksville following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Scranton on December 16th, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Carey) Becker.  After graduating from Fairview High School, Mary attended Wilkes College, graduating summa cum laude.  She was employed for over 30 years with the state of Pennsylvania as a disability claims adjudicator.

Mary was a former member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Hanover Twp., where she served as a deacon, elder, clerk of session, Sunday school teacher, and choir member before the church merger, then becoming an active member of Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre. 

Mary enjoyed sewing clothes and decorative flags, crocheting, and needlepoint, as well as travelling with her husband, Jim.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Becker.

Surviving are her loving husband of 38 years, James Marshall; son, Jenson Marshall and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Emilie, Samuel, Silas and Solomon; brother, Richard Becker and wife, Shelly; sister, Jane Harter and husband, Gordon; sister-in-law, Gail Garrison and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Mary’s life on Friday, April 27, at 3:00 P.M. at Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, 2 Lockhart Street, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Reverend Lee Zortman. Arrangements entrusted to Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, WIlkes-Barre.
