Joseph E. Vital, Sr.

Joseph E. Vital, Sr., 69, of Hanover Township, passed on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Township.

Born on May 29, 1946, He was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Sullivan) Vital. He attended the former Holy Rosary Church on Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

Joseph owned and operated Vital Scrap Yard for Many years prior to retiring. In addition to many years of hard work, Joe enjoyed spending time with family, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara R. (Atkinson) Vital, who passed on April 2, 2015, a daughter, Christine Vital, a grandson, Anthony W. Throop, a brother, Michael Jr., and a sister, Marietta Vital.

Surviving are 5 loving daughters, Alma Mills and her husband, Arthur, Mountain Top, Tammy and Mark Stevenson, Hanover Township, Paulette Vital, Wilkes-Barre, Billie Jo Vital, Dallas, Terri Belcher and husband, Leo Skoloda, Larksville, a son, Joseph E. Vital, Jr. and wife, Mary, Wilkes-Barre, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his loving German Shephard, Jake, two brothers, Duane and Kenny Vital, two sisters, Pamela O'Neil and Rosie Walski, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
