Dimitris Panagiotis Theodorelos, 23, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after fighting a courageous battle against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Dimitris was born in Kingston on August 1, 1993, a son of Panagiotis “Peter” Theodorelos and Cathy (Tsioles) Theodorelos.  He was a life member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre and a member of AHEPA.

He will be remembered by his family for his good hearted nature and concern for others. Dimitris was always smiling, and everyone enjoyed his pleasant and happy demeanor.

Dimitris was a video game enthusiast and enjoyed playing them with his brother, Teddy, cousins and friends. He was an avid collector of video game memorabilia. Dimitris also loved traveling with his father, having traveled to Greece many times and visiting Africa.  

He was preceded in death by his yiayia, Fotini Tsioles and papou, Dimitris Theodorelos.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his loving parents are, his brother, Ted Settas and wife, Kara; sister, Faye Settas and boyfriend, David Kutney; papou, George Tsioles; yiayia, Georgia Theodorelos; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Wilkes-Barre, on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with services at 11:00 A.M. in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 32 East Ross St, Wilkes-Barre. Father Gabriel Nicholas will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday.  A Trisagion service will be held at 6:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 32 East Ross St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

The family would like to thank all the staff from Maxim Healthcare Services, especially Dimitri’s nurses, Brandee, Crystal and Lori.
